More recently companies such as Dell and HP have begun changing the way they design the power jack on a laptop in efforts to minimalize the need for this repair. Fortunately you DON'T HAVE TO BUY A NEW LAPTOP to fix this problem. PC Remedy has replaced many DC Adapter Jacks on models such as: Dell, HP, Gateway, Sony, Toshiba, Acer, and more.
- We charge a FLAT FEE of $130 plus parts to repair any Laptop DC Adapter Jack
- Parts for this should not exceed $15 unless your particular laptop has a specialized part that must be ordered. All prices are disclosed up front so there are no suprises.
- Labor will include disassembling the laptop, de-soldering the dc adapter jack from the motherboard, re-soldering a new DC adapter onto the motherboard, reassembling the laptop, and powering up the laptop to check functionality.
- The other option is replacing the motherboard altogether which, in most cases, is very expensive. A new motherboard from the manufacture could cost $400.00+.
- We have approx. 2 week turnaround time from the time that we receive the laptop.
- We pay for return shipping UPS Ground.
- When shipping, make sure the laptop is packed well and insured for the amount that it would cost you to replace it.
